Sortur by Ahmonza Gwynn
a Hypothetical Boss for Elden Ring named Sortur.
Sortur has its base inspiration in the Norse mythological character Surtr but mostly in regards to meeting destiny or fate
example: Surtr's would wait till the end of the world Ragnarok to set the world ablaze, effectively destroying the world so that it can be born anew for new gods and new peoples.
Sortur would follow a similar rule rather then fighting, defying, or moving against his role in the end of the world or the shattering of the Elden Ring(whatever that might be). He would embrace it.
when Elden Ring shatter the sky became like fire. At the furthest reaches of the realm, to the very edge of the horizon you will find him riding a horse made of flame. If you can catch up too him you would see him burning the horizon as he rides as seen in (A1).
his boss fight would an optional one: when the player gets close enough to attack him on horse back he shout at you "AH YES MY DEATH...Ive seen you in my dreams you are my Death, but if ya think I would allow myself to fall so easily. THINK AGAIN MAHAHAHAH". After this bit of Dialogue he would pull his unfinished blade (A4) from the horizon and begin slinging chunks of flame in the players direction: this would be the first phase of the boss fight. the appearance of his chest is (P1) and would be as such for the remainder of the first phase. in the first phase the player would be forced to dip, duck and dodge Sortur slinging fire balls at him/her and melee attacks by the horse of flame. the player would not be able to hurt Sortur in the first phase, least not until the next phase.
in phase 2 of the fight the horse of flame would be killed by the player and collapse into a pool of hot lava. after the horse dies Sortur falls into fiery pool (the player would have to dismount to engage in combat at this point. As soon as the player gets within melee range Sortur says "my DEATH is the DEATH of the WORLD!!!...to be reborn ANEW!!!". His first few attacks would be slow hand to hand melee attacks while his defense would be dam near invincible. however his slow attacks don't last long, his melee hand to hand(maybe some elbow drops, grabs, full body kicks, and head slams) attacks would get faster and they get faster, his defense get lower and body begins to heat up (P2). At this point his combat style would look a lot gale's wild fighting, if gale was into punching people to death. If the player manages to get past phase 2 they would move on to phase 3. (phase 3 would be the longest phase of the whole fight and much like dark-eater Midir will demand a great deal of endurance from the player )At the beginning of phase 3 Sortur would stab his belly with his unfinished blade and then pull out a flaming sword as seen in (A3). as he performs the belly stab he says "I AM FLAME AND DOOM... BEHOLD VALTIN SHNIlDUR" (valtin shnildur{the sword} a funny way of saying "Weltschneider" or world cutter). From this point after Sortur belly will like pic (P3) and a crown made flame will appear above Sortur's head as shown in (B1). In phase 3 Sortur would swing Valtin Shnildur like a wild man with nothing to lose, all the while laughing like a mad man the whole time. Sortur cannot be forced into a full riposte but parries and attacking him while counters and blocks, would heat him up(lowering his defense). while taking damage from the player (depending on where the player was hitting Sortur) his skin would chip away like dry clay relieving red hot bones underneath (B2). Doing high damage to any one limb will prevent him from using attacks that heavily depend on said limb. like the demon king in darksouls 3, Sortur would fall to his knees swinging helplessly at the player while saying "come on ...finish it ...let the world be born anew...". if they player doesn't kill right away Sortur would speak again saying "what are you waiting for...FINISH IT!". if the player has yet to kill Sortur, Sortur would scream and swing madly in a rage induced combo (this would likely kill the player on their first time fighting Sortur). if Sortur does not kill the player during the combo, at the end at the combo Sortur will die regardless if the player finishes him off or not. only after the combo and death Sortur will say in a wisper "this... is not the death I saw...can one even call this death...I ...fade ...away...". the charred remains of Sortur will give the player a choice, choice1 : put out the fire on his remains, or choice 2 : allow the fire too consume his remains. if the player picked choice 1 the player will get a fully restored Valtin Shnildur an Untra Great Sword. if the player picked choice 2 the player will get an unfinished Valtin Shnildur a wand that slings slags of fire.
